Meet the Dancer

Q: When did you start dancing?
A: Age 6.
Q: What is your favorite ballet?
A: Don Quixote.
Q: What is your favorite ballet role, and why?
A: Kitri from Don Quixote - she's fun, fiery, determined, and the dancing is so free!

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Aside from ballet, my time is spent running a competitive dance studio, professional contemporary dance company, raising my two sons, homemaking, and enjoying nature in Maine. We try to fit in as much lake time in the summer and sledding sessions in the winter as we can.
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: "Just dance, dear.”
-George Balanchine
Q: What are your educational/career goals?
A: I’m at a point in my life where I have reached my goal of running a successful business while maintaining a dance career alongside it. Now it is just expanding on that and striking a balance for it all - which sometimes is harder than the journey to get here!
Q: What is your ballet shoe of choice?
A: Block Heritage or Capezio Hanami

Q: Anything else you would like people to know about you?
A: Dance has helped shape the person I am today - I have been with Maine State Ballet through every season of my life and have had many incredible experiences on stage in their productions that I will never forget. I’m grateful for the tools my education here gave me, the inspiring people I met along the way, and many, many special memories (some of which I got to share with my mom and sister).
