The Maine State Ballet Orchestra has performed for Maine State Ballet productions since 1987.  The orchestra is composed of over 40 musicians, all but a few of whom live in Maine and perform regularly with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and other prominent ensembles.  Following Karla Kelly’s remarkable 35-year tenure, we welcome Robert Lehmann as our orchestra conductor.  “I look forward to joining the incredible artistic team at Maine State Ballet and sharing the beauty of Tchaikovsky’s orchestral music with this first-class orchestra in underscoring Maine State Ballet's remarkable production."
