Farris Peterson
Apprentice
Farris is an apprentice and teacher at MSB, and has been dancing with the studio for over 10 years. Her favorite piece to perform is Balanchine's Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker because of its unique musicality and the intricate patterns of the choreography. In her free time, Farris loves to read, go running, and hike. She will be attending NYU in the fall where she plans to study mathematics and continue her dance career.

Q: When did you start dancing?
A: I started dancing when I was five years old and started focusing on ballet specifically when I was in second grade.
Q: What is your favorite ballet role, and why?
A: My favorite piece to perform is George Balenchine's Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker. I love the unique musicality and intricate patterns of the choreography. My favorite ballet role to watch is Kitri from Don Quixote.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: In my free time I enjoy reading, running, hiking, and spending time with family.
Q: What are your educational/career goals?
A: Academically, I love learning mathematics, which I plan to study in my post-secondary education. I hope to conduct biomedical or pharmaceutical-based research or pursue a PhD and teach at the college level.
Q: What is your ballet shoe of choice?
A: I switch between a Gaynor Minden Lyra and a Nikolay StreamPointe.
